San Francisco officials are looking into whether Twitter’s workplace space has been changed into beds and its headquarters into Elon Musk Twitter hotel due to probable building code violations. In one picture, a double bed is in a room with a closet and slippers.
Elon Musk Twitter hotel is open for business
According to the BBC, an ex-employee said that since Elon Musk purchased the company, he has been residing at the headquarters. He told the whole Twitter workforce in an email sent last month that they “will need to be extremely hardcore” to succeed. Following a complaint, the Department of Building Inspection in San Francisco has acknowledged that it is looking into possible infractions.
Mr. Musk claimed businesses were under fire from the city for giving beds to “tired employees.” Mr. Musk stated in a since-deleted tweet that he would work and rest in the office “until the org is solved.” In the photos, couches at Twitter are being utilized as beds. In a different conference room, a picture hangs above a made-up bed and there is an alarm clock.
One former employee said, “It looks like a hotel room.” They continued by claiming that Mr. Musk frequently rests in the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter. The company’s personnel received an email from Mr. Musk, who took over Twitter in October, last month informing them that they would need to put in “long hours at high intensity.”Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” he stated.
Scott Wiener, a state senator from California, told on Wednesday that “it’s clear that he doesn’t really care about people. He doesn’t care about the people who work for him” because “he’s now making them [workers] sleep at Twitter.” ‘We need to make sure the building is being used as intended,” said a Department of Building Inspection officer. In a response to a journalist on Twitter, Mr. Musk stated that the city should prioritize safeguarding children from the effects of opiate drug usage.
According to Forbes, the company’s newly depopulated offices now have “sad little conference-room sleeping quarters at the company’s recently depopulated headquarters,” which is an improvement over the employee’s makeshift sleeping bag on the floor which was posted on Twitter by Esther Crawford.
The bedrooms are also reported to house employees who have been brought in to work at Twitter from Tesla and other Musk-owned companies, “some of whom commute to Twitter for work meetings,” insiders told.
Official Patrick Hannan from the Department of Building Inspection stated that they looked into every complaint and that there were various requirements for residential structures, including those used for short-term stays. Before Elon Musk took control of the company in May 2020, Twitter promised its staff that they could continue to work remotely “forever” if they so desired because its remote-working policies during Covid lockdowns had been successful.
